Once we got to the airport, we walked around the public area for a while then I went to the bathroom to get all of the sand out of my pockets. There was so much more sand than I though there was. After that we went to Burger King to get a Paneer king burger for home to try. After that, we walked straight to immigration. We did not have to go to check in as we had already checked in at DIFC city check in so we could walk right through.
We walked to Immigration and we used the smart gates. My dad went in first but then a staff member stopped him saying that the child (me) has to exit first so that would have been a problem if my dad had decided to only stay for a day or two. He walked back to the entry then I walked into the machine, it first did my face then opened the first gate, I walked through and face again and it opened. Then we walked through customs.
Once we made into the transit area, we walked around browsing at the different stores. After we looked at a few, we went to a Mc Donalds and got an veggie deluxe burger also to try at home. After that we went to the Ahlan lounge, it was quite small but the food and drinks were really nice. They had: Spring rolls, Pita, Hummus, an eggplant dish and salad bar and lots of other things but these were the things we got.
After that, we walked towards our gates but stopped at a toilet opposite our gate and when we walked out it was final call, but my dad was not here. so ran across and waited for him to turn up. He made it just in time and we boarded our plane.
